Definitely for lovers of the epic George Lucas films, this half marathon is quite unique. Costumes of the characters are a prerequisite, and you will take your place on the start line with a plethora of, Darth Vader’s, Stormtroopers, Hans Solos and even one or two Wookies. The course is mostly flat and it starts at Disney California Adventure Park, then past Disneyland Park then finally onto the streets of Anaheim. Bermuda Half Marathon
Hamilton – Bermuda
A great way to see Bermuda if you have never visited it before is to run the Bermuda Half Marathon. The course is mainly coastal and loops around the island taking in both sides. The finish is at delectable Hamilton with its brightly colored buildings down by the waterfront. If you are adventurous there is even the infamous Bermuda Triangle Half Challenge to compete in, which is a three-day race starts with a road mile, on the second day is a 10K run, and finally the half marathon on the third day.

Key West – Florida
This great half marathon mostly follows the fantastic Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail which overlooks the mighty Atlantic Ocean. This race is fun and it all starts with the registration in one of the top seafood restaurants on the Keys, the magnificent Half Shell Raw Bar. Perhaps after you have recovered from the run you will want to head back to this great seafood emporium for a delicious plate of oysters and a celebratory chilled glass of wine or two.

Our second half marathon in Florida but well worth including, as it is a two-day event that features four different races. A 5K and a 15K on the Saturday before a half marathon and an 8K race on the Sunday. Runners can compete in all four events, a total of thirty miles over the two days. The courses are mainly flat and the longer races loop around Davis Islands then out to run by the waters of Tampa Bay by traversing Bayshore Boulevard.
Steamboat Half Marathon
Steamboat Springs – Colorado
A great location to run a half marathon, up in the fabulous Rocky Mountains in a small skiing resort. The race is mostly point-to-point going downhill to finish at Steamboat Springs. The course could not be more spectacular as it runs along the fast-flowing Elk River, with many kayak lovers are whitewater paddling across.
After the excursion of the race many runners take advantage of the Old Town Hot Springs to relax their muscles and just enjoy the warm water. These great American half marathons are well worth exploring as they are all totally different and bring the competitors good races and a whole lot of fun.
